भारतं परम पुण्यं भारते विविधा: कथा: । भारतं सेव्यते देवैर्भारतं परमं पदम्,महाभारत परम पवित्र ग्रन्थ है। इसमें नाना प्रकारकी कथाएँ हैं। देवता भी महाभारतका सेवन करते हैं। महाभारत परमपदस्वरूप है
bhārataṃ parama-puṇyaṃ bhārate vividhāḥ kathāḥ | bhārataṃ sevyate devair bhārataṃ paramaṃ padam ||
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—భారతం పరమ పుణ్యప్రదం. భారతంలో నానావిధ కథలు ఉన్నాయి. దేవతలు కూడా భారతాన్ని సేవించి ఆదరిస్తారు. భారతమే పరమపదస్వరూపం.
