जातिं देशं च सत्यं च माहात्म्यं भरतर्षभ | धर्म वृत्ति च विज्ञाय क्षत्रियाणां नराधिप

Transliteration

jātiṃ deśaṃ ca satyaṃ ca māhātmyaṃ bharatarṣabha | dharmavṛttiṃ ca vijñāya kṣatriyāṇāṃ narādhipa rājan bharataśreṣṭha ||

Translation

వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను— ఓ భరతశ్రేష్ఠ రాజా! మహాభారత కథ ప్రారంభమైన తరువాత, ప్రతి పర్వంలో క్షత్రియుల వంశము, దేశము, సత్యనిష్ఠ, మహిమ, అలాగే ధర్మము మరియు ఆచారవృత్తిని విచారించి, బ్రాహ్మణులకు ఏ ఏ అర్పణలు చేయవలెనో, వాటిని ఇప్పుడు నేను వివరించుదును.
