शृणोति श्रावयेद् वापि सततं चैव यो नर: । सर्वपापविनिर्मुक्तो वैष्णवं पदमाप्तनुयात्,जो मनुष्य सदा महाभारतको सुनता अथवा सुनाता रहता है वह सब पापोंसे मुक्त होकर भगवान् विष्णुके धामको जाता है
śṛṇoti śrāvayed vāpi satataṃ caiva yo naraḥ | sarvapāpavinirmukto vaiṣṇavaṃ padam āpnoti ||
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను— ఎవడు నిరంతరం మహాభారతాన్ని వింటాడో లేదా ఇతరులకు వినిపించునో, వాడు సమస్త పాపముల నుండి విముక్తుడై వైష్ణవ పదమును—శ్రీ విష్ణువు యొక్క పరమ ధామమును—ప్రాప్తించును.
