Chapter 81: Trust, Allies, and the Qualifications of the King’s Artha-Secretary (अर्थसचिव)
यं मन्येत ममाभावादिममर्थागमं स्पृशेत् । नित्यं तस्माच्छडुकितव्यममित्र तद् विदुर्बुधा:
yaṁ manyeta mamābhāvād imam arthāgamaṁ spṛśet | nityaṁ tasmāc chadukitavyam amitra tad vidur budhāḥ ||
భీష్ముడు పలికెను—‘నేను లేనప్పుడు ఇతడు రాజు కావచ్చు, సంపద యొక్క సమస్త ఆదాయాన్ని తన చేతుల్లోకి తీసుకోవచ్చు’ అనే భావన ఎవరి గురించి కలుగుతుందో—అతడు అన్నయైనా, పొరుగువాడైనా, కుమారుడైనా—అతని పట్ల ఎల్లప్పుడూ అప్రమత్తంగా ఉండాలి; ఎందుకంటే జ్ఞానులు అటువంటివాడిని శత్రువుగానే గుర్తిస్తారు।
