स्वयं भागमुपाप्राय पुरोडाशं गृहीतवान् | अदृश्येन हृतो भागो देवेन हरिमेधसा,भगवान् हयग्रीवने स्वयं अदृश्य रहकर ही अपने लिये अर्पित पुरोडाशको ग्रहण किया और उसे सूँघकर अपने अधीन कर लिया
svayaṁ bhāgam upāprāya puroḍāśaṁ gṛhītavān | adṛśyena hṛto bhāgo devena harimedhasā ||
భీష్ముడు పలికెను—ఆయన స్వయంగా వచ్చి తనకు చెందవలసిన భాగాన్ని కోరుకొని పురోడాశాన్ని గ్రహించెను. హరిసమానమైన తీక్ష్ణ మేధస్సు గల ఒక అదృశ్య దేవుడు ఆ భాగాన్ని అదృశ్యంగానే తీసుకుపోయెను—అర్పించిన పురోడాశాన్ని ఆయన స్వీకరించెను.
