Mahābhārata 12.292
प्रयत्नेन च संसिद्धा धनैरपि विवर्जिता: । सम्यग् हुत्वा हुतवहं मुनयः सिद्धिमागता:,ऋषि-मुनियोंके पास धन नहीं था तो भी वे अपने प्रयत्नसे ही सिद्ध हो गये। उन्होंने विधिपूर्वक अग्निहोत्र करके सिद्धि प्राप्त की थी
prayatnena ca saṁsiddhā dhanair api vivarjitāḥ | samyag hutvā hutavahaṁ munayaḥ siddhim āgatāḥ ||
ఋషి-মునులకు ధనం లేకపోయినా వారు తమ ప్రయత్నంతోనే సిద్ధిని పొందారు. విధిపూర్వకంగా అగ్నిలో ఆహుతులు సమర్పించి వారు సాధనాసిద్ధిని చేరుకున్నారు.
