Akṣara–Kṣara Viveka: Vasiṣṭha–Karāla-Janaka Saṃvāda (अक्षर-क्षर विवेकः)

राज्ञा जेतव्या: शत्रवश्नोन्नताश्र सम्यक्‌ कर्तव्यं पालनं च प्रजानाम्‌ । अन्निश्वेयो बहुभिश्चापि यज्ञै- रन्त्ये मध्ये वा वनमाश्रित्य स्थेयम्‌

rājñā jetavyāḥ śatravaś cābhiyātāḥ samyak kartavyaṁ pālanaṁ ca prajānām | agniśreyo bahubhiś cāpi yajñair antye madhye vā vanam āśritya stheyam, nareśvara ||

పరాశరుడు పలికెను— నరేశ్వరా, రాజు ఉద్ధతంగా లేచిన శత్రువులను జయించవలెను; న్యాయబద్ధంగా ప్రజలను పాలించవలెను; అనేక యజ్ఞములచే అగ్నిదేవుని సంతృప్తిపరచవలెను; మరియు వైరాగ్యం కలిగినపుడు—మధ్యవయస్సులో గానీ, జీవితాంత్యంలో గానీ—అరణ్యాన్ని ఆశ్రయించి అక్కడ నివసించవలెను।
