अपृथग्धर्मिणो मर्त्या ऋक्‍सामानि यजूंषि च | काम्या इष्टी: पृथग्‌ दृष्टया तपोभिस्तप एव च

Transliteration

apṛthagdharmiṇo martyā ṛk-sāmāni yajūṃṣi ca | kāmyā iṣṭīḥ pṛthag dṛṣṭyā tapobhis tapa eva ca ||

Translation

వ్యాసుడు పలికెను—సత్యయుగంలో అద్వైతధర్మంలో స్థిరమైన మానవులు ఋగ్, సామ, యజుర్వేదములను మరియు కామ్యయజ్ఞములను స్వతంత్ర లక్ష్యాలుగా భావించరు. అవి జ్ఞానతపస్సుకు భిన్నమని గ్రహించి, ఆ కర్మాచారాలను విడిచి కేవలం జ్ఞానరూప తపస్సులోనే నిమగ్నులవుతారు.
