शचीपति इन्द्र! जैसे तुम हो, वैसे ही बल और पराक्रमसे सम्पन्न अनेक सहस्र इन्द्र समाप्त हो चुके हैं ।। त्वामप्यतिबलं शक्र देवराजं बलोत्कटम्‌ | प्राप्त काले महावीर्य: काल: संशमयिष्यति,शक्र! तुम अपनेको अत्यन्त शक्तिशाली और उत्कट बलसे युक्त देवराज समझते हो; परंतु समय आनेपर महापराक्रमी काल तुम्हें भी शान्त कर देगा

Transliteration

tvām apy atibalaṃ śakra devarājaṃ balotkaṭam | prāpta-kāle mahāvīryaḥ kālaḥ saṃśamayīṣyati ||

Translation

శక్రా! నీవు నిన్ను అత్యంత బలవంతుడిగా, దేవరాజుగా, ఉగ్రబలసంపన్నుడిగా భావిస్తున్నావు; కాని కాలం వచ్చినప్పుడు మహావీర్యుడైన కాలమే నిన్ను కూడా శాంతింపజేస్తాడు. శచీపతే! నీతో సమానంగా బలపరాక్రమసంపన్నులైన అనేక సహస్ర ఇంద్రులు ఇప్పటికే అంతమయ్యారు.
