Adhyāya 222 — ब्रह्मस्थानप्राप्ति: मोक्षधर्मे समत्वव्रतम्
Attaining the Brahman-Station: The Vow of Equanimity in Mokṣadharma

अनिष्टस्थ हि निर्व॑त्तिरनिर्व त्ति: प्रियस्य च । लक्ष्यते यतमानानां पुरुषार्थस्तत: कुत:,परंतु देखा यह जाता है कि इष्टसिद्धिके लिये प्रयत्न करनेवालोंको अनिष्टकी भी प्राप्ति होती है और इष्टकी सिद्धिसे वे वंचित रह जाते हैं; अतः पुरुषार्थकी प्रधानता कहाँ रही?
Translation
కానీ ఇష్టసిద్ధి కోసం యత్నించే వారికి అనిష్టం కూడా కలుగుతుంది, ప్రియమైనది సిద్ధించకపోవడమూ కనిపిస్తుంది; అప్పుడు పురుషార్థానికి ప్రాధాన్యం ఎక్కడ?
