कार्य व्यासक्तमनस: संकल्पो जाग्रतो हापि । यद्वन्मनोरथैश्वर्य स्वप्ने तद्धन्मनोगतम्,जैसे जाग्रत-अवस्थामें विभिन्न कार्योमें आसक्त-चित्त हुए मनुष्यके संकल्प मनोराज्यकी ही विभूति हैं, उसी प्रकार स्वप्नके भाव भी मनसे ही सम्बन्ध रखते हैं
kāryavyāsaktamanasaḥ saṅkalpo jāgrato hāpi | yadvan manorathaiśvaryaṃ svapne tadvad manogataṃ ||
భీష్ముడు పలికెను— జాగ్రతావస్థలో కూడా వివిధ కార్యాలలో మనస్సు ఆసక్తమై ఉన్న మనిషి సంకల్పాలు అంతరంగ ‘మనోరాజ్య’ వైభవమే. అలాగే స్వప్నంలో కనిపించే భావాలు, దృశ్యాలు కూడా మనస్సునుండే పుట్టి మనస్సుకే చెందినవే.
