Śānti-parva 168: Śoka-nivṛtti-buddhi (The Cognition that Reduces Grief) and Piṅgalā’s Nairāśya

सुचारुवेषाभिरलंकृताभि- मंदोत्कटाभि: प्रियदर्शनाभि: । रमस्व योषाभिरुपेत्य काम॑ कामो हि राजन्‌ परमो भवेन्न:

sucāruveṣābhir alaṅkṛtābhir mandotkaṭābhiḥ priyadarśanābhiḥ | ramasva yoṣābhir upetya kāmaṃ kāmo hi rājan paramo bhaven naḥ ||

కాబట్టి, రాజా! కామాన్ని ఆశ్రయించి, సుందర వేషధారిణులు, ఆభరణాలతో అలంకృతులు, చూడటానికి మనోహరులు, యౌవనోన్మాదంతో మత్తులైన స్త్రీలతో కలిసి విహరించుము. ఎందుకంటే, రాజా, ఈ లోకంలో మాకు కామమే పరమమని భావించబడుతుంది.
