Educational Q&A

The verse establishes the ethical setting: guidance on dharma is delivered to the king by recognized spiritual authorities (Nārada with Vyāsa and other sages). It implies that right conduct and inner peace are to be sought through learned counsel and tradition, especially after the moral turmoil of war.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that Nārada, after conferring with Vyāsa and other sages, begins to speak to Yudhiṣṭhira. It is a transition into instruction and dialogue, marking the start of Nārada’s address within the Śānti-parvan context.
