मधुरं धर्मसंयुक्त शूराणां हितमेव च | तब बलरामने युधिष्ठिरसे मधुर वाणीमें शूरवीरोंके लिये हितकर धर्मयुक्त वचन कहा --][५% || मया श्रुतं कथयतामृषीणां राजसत्तम,“नृपश्रेष्ठ! मैंने माहात्म्य-कथा कहनेवाले ऋषियोंके मुखसे यह सुना है कि कुरुक्षेत्र परम पावन पुण्यमय तीर्थ है। वह स्वर्ग प्रदान करनेवाला है। देवता, ऋषि तथा महात्मा ब्राह्मण सदा उसका सेवन करते हैं
