तावन्योन्यं निरीक्षेतां क्रुद्धाविव महाद्विपौ
tāv anyonyaṃ nirīkṣetāṃ kruddhāv iva mahādvipau
సంజయుడు పలికెను—ఆ ఇద్దరు పరస్పరం ఒకరినొకరు తిలకించిరి; కోపంతో ఉప్పొంగిన రెండు మహాగజాలవలె।
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how anger and martial pride can eclipse judgment: when opponents meet in wrath, the encounter becomes a force-on-force collision, suggesting the ethical need for restraint even among the powerful.
Sañjaya describes two combatants confronting each other on the battlefield, staring each other down in anger, compared to two massive elephants poised to fight.
