The verse presents an ethical-psychological ideal for action in crisis: disciplined resolve aligned with dharma is depicted as the foremost force, bringing success, prosperity, steadiness, and presence of mind—qualities that collectively lead toward victory.
As the great army advances, the narrator poetically personifies virtues—resolve, victory, dharma, success, fortune, fortitude, and memory—as if they themselves march at the head of the troops, signaling a charged and auspicious momentum in the unfolding battle.
