Vaiśampāyana said: The Lord (Kārttikeya) stood surrounded by the Viśvedevas, the Maruts, the Sādhyas, and the Pitṛs; and also by the Rudras, the Vasus, the Ādityas, and the two Aśvins. Thus encircled by the foremost divine hosts, he appeared as the focal point of their reverence and power—an image of rightful authority upheld by the collective order of the gods.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights legitimate authority supported by cosmic order: the divine hosts collectively gather around the Lord (Kārttikeya), suggesting that true power is strengthened when aligned with the wider moral and cosmic community rather than standing in isolation.

Vaiśampāyana describes a grand divine scene in which multiple classes of gods and ancestral beings encircle Kārttikeya, portraying him as honored and protected by the assembled celestial powers.
