षट्साहसेहयै: शिष्टेरपायाच्छान्तवाहनम् | इसी प्रकार खूनसे नहायी हुई पाण्डव-सेना भी शेष छः: हजार घुड़सवारोंके साथ युद्धसे निवृत्त हो गयी। उसके सारे वाहन थक गये थे
ṣaṭsāhasaiḥ hayaiḥ śiṣṭeḥ apāyāc chāntavāhanam |
సంజయుడు పలికెను—మిగిలిన ఆరు వేల అశ్వారోహులతో మాత్రమే ఆ సేన యుద్ధం నుండి వెనుదిరిగింది; దాని వాహనాలన్నీ అలసిపోయినవి. అలాగే రక్తస్నాతమైన పాండవసేన కూడా మిగిలిన ఆరు వేల గుఱ్ఱస్వారులతో సంగ్రామం నుండి విరమించింది; మనుష్యులకూ వాహనాలకూ సమానంగా శ్రమ ఆవరించింది।
