विस्फुरन्तं च पशुवत्‌ तथैवैनममारयत्‌ | अश्वत्थामाने झपटकर उसे पकड़ लिया और पृथ्वीपर दे मारा। वह उसके चंगुलसे छूटनेके लिये बहुतेरा हाथ-पैर मारता रहा; किंतु अश्वत्थामाने उसे भी पशुकी तरह गला घोंटकर मार डाला

visphurantaṃ ca paśuvat tathaivainam amārayat |

Translation

అశ్వత్థాముడు ఒక్కసారిగా దూకి అతడిని పట్టుకొని నేలకేసి కొట్టాడు. అతడు అతని పట్టు నుంచి తప్పించుకోవడానికి చేతికాళ్లు బాగా కొట్టుకున్నాడు; అయినా అశ్వత్థాముడు అతడినీ పశువులా గొంతు నులిమి చంపేశాడు।
