क्षणेन तस्य ते राजन्‌ क्षयं जग्मुरजिह्यागा: । अक्षया हि पुरा भूत्वा क्षीणा: क्षमजभोजना:,राजन! अर्जुनके सीधे जानेवाले बाण क्षणभरमें क्षीण हो गये। जो रक्तभोगी बाण पहले अक्षय थे वे ही उस समय सर्वथा क्षयको प्राप्त हो गये

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

kṣaṇena tasya te rājan kṣayaṃ jagmur ajihyagāḥ |

akṣayā hi purā bhūtvā kṣīṇāḥ kṣamajabhakṣaṇāḥ ||

వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—ఓ రాజా! క్షణమాత్రంలోనే అతని వంకరలేని, నేరుగా దూసుకెళ్లే అచ్యుత బాణాలు క్షయమయ్యాయి. పూర్వం అక్షయమై ఉన్న ఆ రక్తపిపాసి ఆయుధాలు ఆ వేళ పూర్తిగా శుష్కించిపోయాయి.
