Vasudeva–Arjuna Dialogue in the Aftermath of Dvārakā

स तान्‌ दृष्टवा निपतितान्‌ कदने भृशदु:खित: । बभूवातीव कौरव्य: प्राप्तकालं चकार ह,उस भीषण मारकाटमें मरकर धराशायी हुए यादवोंको देखकर कुरुकुलनन्दन अर्जुनको बड़ा भारी दुःख हुआ। उन्होंने ब्रह्मशापके कारण एरकासे उत्पन्न हुए मूसलोंद्वारा मारे गये यदुवंशी वीरोंके बड़े-छोटेके क्रमसे सारे समयोचित कार्य (अन्त्येष्टि कर्म) सम्पन्न किये

sa tān dṛṣṭvā nipatitān kadane bhṛśa-duḥkhitaḥ | babhūvātīva kauravyaḥ prāpta-kālaṃ cakāra ha ||

ఆ భయంకర సంహారంలో నేలకొరిగిన యాదవులను చూసి కౌరవవంశజుడు అర్జునుడు అత్యంత శోకంతో మునిగిపోయాడు। తరువాత కాలోచిత ధర్మంగా, బ్రాహ్మణశాపబలంతో ఎరుకా కాడ నుండి పుట్టిన ఇనుప ముసలాలతో హతులైన యదువంశ వీరుల అంత్యక్రియలను పెద్ద-చిన్న క్రమంలో విధివిధానంగా నిర్వహించాడు।
