ततो युद्धमतीवासीन्मुहूर्तमिव भारत । भीरूणां त्रासजननं शूराणां हर्षवर्धनम्,भारत! तदनन्तर दो घड़ीतक वहाँ घोर युद्ध होता रहा, जो कायरोंके लिये त्रासजनक और शूरवीरोंका हर्ष बढ़ानेवाला था
tato yuddham atīvāsīn muhūrtam iva bhārata | bhīrūṇāṁ trāsajananaṁ śūrāṇāṁ harṣavardhanam ||
ఆపై, ఓ భారతా! క్షణమాత్రంలా అనిపించే కాలం పాటు అత్యంత ఘోర యుద్ధం సాగింది—భీరువులకు భయాన్ని కలిగించేది, శూరులకు హర్షాన్ని పెంపొందించేది.
