धृतराष्ट्रस्य मूर्च्छा स्त्रीणां च आर्तनादः
Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Collapse and the Lament of the Palace Women
तदिदं निहते द्रोणे विषण्णमिव लक्ष्यते । युध्यमानाश्व समरे योधा वध्यन्ति सर्वश:
tad idaṁ nihate droṇe viṣaṇṇam iva lakṣyate | yudhyamānāś ca samare yodhā vadhyante sarvaśaḥ ||
సంజయుడు పలికెను—ద్రోణుడు హతుడైన తరువాత ఈ సమస్త సైన్యం విషాదంలో మునిగినట్లుగా కనిపిస్తోంది. ఎందుకంటే సమరంలో యుద్ధం చేసే యోధులు అన్ని వైపులా వధింపబడుతారు; రణభూమిలో కొన్నిసార్లు విజయం, కొన్నిసార్లు మరణం—ఇందులో ఆశ్చర్యమేముంది? కాబట్టి అన్ని దిశలకూ ముఖం తిప్పి, నూతన ఉత్సాహంతో యుద్ధం చేయండి।
