नानाशस्त्रपुरोवातो द्विपाश्वरथसंवृतः । गदाविद्युन्महारौद्र: संग्रामजलदो महान्
nānaśastrapurovāto dvipāśvarathasaṁvṛtaḥ | gadāvidyunmahāraudraḥ saṅgrāmajalado mahān |
సంజయుడు పలికెను—ఏనుగులు, గుఱ్ఱాలు, రథాలతో నిండిన మహాసేనాసమేతమైన ఆ యుద్ధభూమి యుద్ధమేఘంలా విస్తారంగా కనిపించింది. నానావిధ శస్త్రాలు పూర్వవాయువులా ముందుకు దూసుకెళ్లగా, గదలు మెరుపులా మెరుస్తున్నాయి. భయంకరమైన ఆ సంగ్రామమేఘాన్ని ద్రోణాచార్యుడు వాయువులా నడిపించెను; దానినుండి బాణరూప జలధారలు వేల వేలుగా పాండవసేనపై నాలుగు దిక్కుల నుండీ వర్షించాయి—అగ్నిలా ఉగ్రంగా మండుతూ।
