Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that the Supreme (Nārāyaṇa) is the ultimate source of the five elements and their qualities, as well as time, Brahmā, the Veda, and all beings—thereby establishing a devotional and dharmic vision in which the cosmos and sacred order arise from one transcendent origin.

Śrī Nārāyaṇa is speaking a hymn-like declaration of his cosmic sovereignty, enumerating elemental principles and key pillars of the world (time, Brahmā, Veda, Brāhmaṇas, and all creatures) to affirm that everything—mobile and immobile—proceeds from him.
