तौ परस्परमासाद्य समीपे कुरुमाधवौ । हसमानीौ नृशार्दूलावभीतौ समसज्जताम्
sañjaya uvāca | tau parasparam āsādya samīpe kurumādhavau | hasamānau nṛśārdūlāv abhītau samasajjatām ||
సంజయుడు పలికెను—కురువంశీయుడూ మాధవవంశీయుడూ అయిన దుర్యోధనుడు, సాత్యకి—ఇద్దరూ పరస్పరం సమీపించి ముఖాముఖి అయ్యిరి। మనుష్యులలో సింహసములైన ఆ ఇద్దరు నిర్భయులు, నవ్వుతూ యుద్ధానికి సిద్ధమయ్యిరి।
