Mahabharata 7.175.44 — Drona Parva, Adhyaya 175, Shloka 44
प्रजानाथ! उसने कवच, धनुष, बाण और खड्ग धारण कर रखे थे। वह श्रीकृष्ण और पाण्डुपुत्र धनंजयको प्रणाम करके उस समय भगवान् श्रीकृष्णसे बोला--'प्रभो! यह मैं सेवामें उपस्थित हूँ। मुझे आज्ञा दीजिये, क्या करूँ?” ।।
prajānātha! sa kavacaṃ dhanuḥ bāṇān khaḍgaṃ ca dhārayāmāsa. sa śrīkṛṣṇaṃ pāṇḍuputraṃ dhanañjayaṃ ca praṇamya tadā bhagavantaṃ śrīkṛṣṇam abravīt— “prabho! ahaṃ sevāyām upasthitaḥ. ājñāpaya, kiṃ karomi?” || tataḥ taṃ meghasaṅkāśaṃ dīptāsyaṃ dīptakuṇḍalam | abhyabhāṣata haiḍimbiṃ dāśārhaḥ prahasann iva ||
ప్రజానాథా! అతడు కవచం, ధనుస్సు, బాణాలు, ఖడ్గం ధరించి ఉన్నాడు. శ్రీకృష్ణునికీ పాండుపుత్రుడు ధనంజయునికీ నమస్కరించి, ఆ సమయంలో భగవాన్ శ్రీకృష్ణునితో—“ప్రభూ! నేను సేవకు సిద్ధంగా ఉన్నాను; ఆజ్ఞాపించండి, నేడు ఏమి చేయాలి?” అని అన్నాడు. అప్పుడు మేఘవర్ణుడై, జ్వలితముఖుడై, ప్రకాశించే కుండలాలు ధరించిన హైడింబుడు (ఘటోత్కచుడు)ను దాశార్హుడు శ్రీకృష్ణుడు నవ్వినట్లుగా సంభాషించాడు.
