अन्तर्दधु: प्रभा: सर्वा दीपैस्तैरव भासिता: । महामनस्वी योद्धाओंके अस्त्रों, कवचों और मणियोंकी सारी प्रभा उन प्रदीपोंके प्रकाशसे तिरोहित हो गयी थी ।। तस्मिन् कोलाहले युद्धे वर्तमाने निशामुखे
sañjaya uvāca |
antardadhuḥ prabhāḥ sarvā dīpais tair avabhāsitāḥ |
mahāmanasvī yoddhānāṃ astrāṇāṃ kavacānāṃ ca maṇīnāṃ sā prabhā dīpānāṃ prakāśena tirohitā babhūva ||
tasmin kolāhale yuddhe vartamāne niśāmukhe ||
ఆ దీపాల వెలుగులో అన్ని కాంతులూ మాయమైపోయినట్లయ్యెను. మహామనస్కులైన యోధుల అస్త్రాలు, కవచాలు, మణులలో మెరిసిన తేజస్సు ఆ దీపాల ప్రకాశంతో మరుగున పడెను. అట్లా ఆ కోలాహలభరిత యుద్ధం సాగుతుండగా, రాత్రి మొదలు కాబోతుండెను.
