Night Exhaustion and Brief Pause in Battle
tān dṛṣṭvā cukrudhe bhīmo jagṛhe bhārasādhanān
The verse highlights how intense emotion—especially anger—can immediately translate into action in war; it implicitly warns that krodha drives escalation, even when a warrior feels compelled by kṣatriya-duty to respond with force.
Sañjaya reports that Bhīma, upon seeing the opposing side (or a threatening situation), becomes enraged and physically takes up heavy weapons, signaling his readiness to engage in combat.
