(Alaṃbala-vadhaḥ) / The Slaying of Alaṃbala and the Advance toward Karṇa
na mṛṣyati hataṃ nūnaṃ bhūriśravasam āhave |
The verse highlights how attachment to honor, comradeship, and battlefield reputation can make a warrior unable to ‘bear’ a death—showing how grief and indignation quickly fuel further violence in war.
Sañjaya comments that a key figure (implied by context) is reacting intensely because Bhūriśravas has been killed in the battle, indicating a turning point of anger and urgency among the combatants.
