बहुभि: पार्थिवैर्गुप्तमस्मत्प्रियचिकीर्षुभि: । अस्मानभिसृतै: कामात्‌ सबलै: सपदानुगै:

Transliteration

bahubhiḥ pārthivair guptam asmat-priya-cikīrṣubhiḥ | asmān abhisṛtaiḥ kāmāt sa-balaiḥ sa-padānugaiḥ ||

Translation

సంజయుడు పలికెను—మాకు ప్రీతికరమైనది చేయాలని ఉత్సుకులైన అనేక రాజులు ఈ సైన్యాన్ని రక్షించారు. వారు కేవలం కోరికవశాత్ మా వైపు దూసుకొచ్చారు—తమ తమ బలగాలతో, తమ అనుచరులను వెంటబెట్టుకొని।
