तामापतन्तीं सम्प्रेक्ष्य वियत्स्थामशनीमिव । उत्पत्य राक्षसस्तूर्ण जग्राह च ननाद च,आकाशमें प्रकाशित होनेवाली अशनि (वज्र)-के समान उस महाशक्तिको गिरती हुई देख राक्षस घटोत्कचने उछलकर तुरंत ही उसे पकड़ लिया और सिंहके समान गर्जना की
tām āpatantīṃ samprekṣya viyat-sthām aśanīm iva | utpatya rākṣasas tūrṇaṃ jagrāha ca nanāda ca ||
సంజయుడు పలికెను— ఆకాశంలో మెరుస్తూ వజ్రంలా దూసుకొస్తున్న ఆ మహాశక్తిని చూచి రాక్షసుడు ఘటోత్కచుడు ఒక్కసారిగా ఎగిరి దానిని పట్టుకొని సింహంలా గర్జించాడు॥
