षष्टिं वर्षमहस्राणि षष्टिमेव शतानि च । आदित्यतापतप्तास्ते विशन्ति शशिमण्डलम्,वे छाछठ हजार वर्षोतक ही सूर्यदेवके तापमें तपकर अन्तमें चन्द्रमण्डलमें प्रवेश कर जाते हैं
ṣaṣṭiṁ varṣa-sahasrāṇi ṣaṣṭim eva śatāni ca | āditya-tāpa-taptās te viśanti śaśi-maṇḍalam ||
సంజయుడు పలికెను—ఆదిత్యుని తాపంలో అరవై వేల సంవత్సరాలు, మరియూ అరవై ఆరు వందల సంవత్సరాలు దగ్ధమై తపించిన తరువాత, చివరికి వారు శశిమండలంలో ప్రవేశిస్తారు.
