Educational Q&A

True knowledge of the inner secret (yoga-realization) transcends the merit gained from external religious acts—Vedic study, sacrifice, austerity, and charity—and leads to the highest, primordial, eternal goal.

In the Bhīṣma Parva dialogue setting, Arjuna speaks a concluding affirmation: the yogin who understands the teaching just revealed goes beyond conventional merit-making practices and reaches the supreme state, emphasizing realization over ritual achievement.
