जानामि त्वां महाबाहो क्षत्रियाणां क्षयंकर । मया श्रुतं च ते युद्धं जामदग्न्येन वै सह,'क्षत्रियोंका विनाश करनेवाले महाबाहु भीष्म! मैं भी आपको जानता हूँ। मैंने सुना है कि आपने जमदग्निनन्दन परशुरामजीके साथ युद्ध किया था
jānāmi tvāṃ mahābāho kṣatriyāṇāṃ kṣayaṃkara | mayā śrutaṃ ca te yuddhaṃ jāmadagnyena vai saha ||
సంజయుడు అన్నాడు— ఓ మహాబాహూ, క్షత్రియుల వినాశకుడవైన భీష్మా! నిన్ను నేను తెలుసు. జమదగ్ని కుమారుడైన పరశురామునితో నీవు యుద్ధం చేసినదీ నేను విన్నాను.
