युध्यमानं रणे शूरं विप्रचित्तिमिवामरा: । उस समय कुन्तीके पुत्र खिन्नचित्त होकर रणक्षेत्रमें युद्ध करते हुए आपके ताऊ शूरवीर भीष्मकी ओर उसी प्रकार देखने लगे, जैसे देवता विप्रचित्ति नामक दानवको देखते हैं

yudhyamānaṁ raṇe śūraṁ vipracittim ivāmarāḥ |

సంజయుడు అన్నాడు—రణంలో యుద్ధం చేస్తున్న ఆ శూరవీరుడు దేవతలకు విప్రచిత్తి అనే దానవుడిలా కనిపించాడు.
