Adhyāya 90: Babhruvāhana’s Reception and the Commencement of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Aśvamedha
द्रव्यागमो नृणां सूक्ष्म: पात्रे दानं ततः परम्,“मनुष्यके लिये सबसे पहले न्यायपूर्वक धनकी प्राप्तिका उपाय जानना ही सूक्ष्म विषय है। उस धनको सत्पात्रकी सेवामें अर्पण करना उससे भी श्रेष्ठ है। साधारण समयमें दान देनेकी अपेक्षा उत्तम समयपर दान देना और भी अच्छा है; किंतु श्रद्धाका महत्त्व कालसे भी बढ़कर है। स्वर्गका दरवाजा अत्यन्त सूक्ष्म है। मनुष्य मोहवश उसे देख नहीं पाते हैं
dravyāgamo nṛṇāṃ sūkṣmaḥ; pātre dānaṃ tataḥ param | kālād api śraddhā śreṣṭhā; svargadvāraṃ tu sūkṣmam ||
మామగారు అన్నారు—“మనుష్యులకు న్యాయంగా ధనం సంపాదించే మార్గాన్ని గ్రహించడం సూక్ష్మమైన విషయం; అయితే దానికన్నా శ్రేష్ఠం ఆ ధనాన్ని సత్పాత్ర సేవలో అర్పించడం. సాధారణ కాలంలో దానం చేయడంకన్నా ఉత్తమ కాలంలో దానం చేయడం మేలని చెప్పబడింది; కానీ కాలానికన్నా గొప్పది శ్రద్ధ. స్వర్గద్వారం అత్యంత సూక్ష్మం—మోహవశాత్తు మనుష్యులు దానిని చూడలేరు.”
