तेषां तदभवद् युद्ध दशाहानि महात्मनाम् | कुरूणां पाण्डवानां च सुमहल्लोमहर्षणम्,उन महामनस्वी कौरवों और पाण्डवोंमें दस दिनोंतक महान् रोमांचकारी युद्ध हुआ
teṣāṃ tad abhavad yuddhaṃ daśāhāni mahātmanām | kurūṇāṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ ca sumahallomaharṣaṇam ||
ఆ మహాత్ములైన కౌరవులు, పాండవుల మధ్య పది రోజుల పాటు యుద్ధం జరిగింది—అతి విస్తారమైనది, రోమాంచకరమైనది, భయంకరమైనది.
