सम्पूर्ण भक्ष्य-भोज्य पदार्थोंमें अन्न श्रेष्ठ कहा जाता है। बहनेवाले और सभी पीनेयोग्य पदार्थोमें जल उत्तम है ।।

Transliteration

sthāvarāṇāṁ tu bhūtānāṁ sarveṣām aviśeṣataḥ | brahmakṣetraṁ sadā puṇyaṁ plakṣaḥ prathamataḥ smṛtaḥ ||

Translation

వాయుదేవుడు పలికెను—సమస్త స్థావర భూతములలో, భేదము లేకుండా, ‘బ్రహ్మక్షేత్ర’ అనే వృక్షము నిత్య పుణ్యముగా భావింపబడుతుంది; అలాగే ప్లక్షము (పవిత్ర అత్తివృక్షము) ప్రథమముగా స్మరింపబడుతుంది.
