Rajo-guṇa-nirdeśa — Brahmā’s Enumeration of Rajasic Dispositions
अस्मिल्लोके प्रमोदन््ते जायमाना: पुनः पुन: । प्रेत्य भाविकमीहन्ते ऐहलौकिकमेव च । ददति प्रतिगृह्नन्ति तर्पयन्त्यथ जुह्गमति,ऐसे लोग इस लोकमें बार-बार जन्म लेकर विषयजनित आनन्दमें मग्न रहते हैं और इहलोक तथा परलोकमें सुख पानेका प्रयत्न किया करते हैं। अतः वे सकाम भावसे दान देते हैं, प्रतिग्रह लेते हैं तथा तर्पण और यज्ञ करते हैं
asmi loke pramodante j1yam1n1 puna puna | pretya bh1vikam 2bhante aihalaukikam eva ca | dadati pratigh nanti tarpayanty atha juhvati ||
వాయుదేవుడు పలికెను—ఇలాంటి వారు ఈ లోకమునందే పునఃపునః జన్మించి హర్షించుచు, విషయజనిత సుఖములో మునిగియుంటారు. మరణానంతరమున కూడా రాబోయే ఫలమని భావించి దానికై యత్నించుచు, ఇహలోక లాభమునకే పరితపిస్తారు. అందుచేత కోరికనే కారణముగా చేసుకొని దానమిచ్చుదురు, ప్రతిగ్రహము స్వీకరించుదురు, తర్పణము చేయుదురు, యజ్ఞమున ఆహుతులు సమర్పించుదురు.
