Puṣkara-Śapatha Itihāsa (Agastya–Indra Dispute at the Tīrthas) | पुष्कर-शपथ-आख्यानम्
तपोधनो! राजा वृषादर्भिने इसे भेजा था, किंन्तु यह मेरे द्वारा मारी गयी। ब्राह्मणो! मैंने सोचा कि अग्निसे उत्पन्न यह दुष्ट पापिनी कृत्या कहीं आप-लोगोंकी हिंसा न कर डाले; इसलिये मैं यहाँ आ गया। आपलोग मुझे इन्द्र समझें। आपलोगोंने जो लोभका परित्याग किया है, इससे आपको वे अक्षयलोक प्राप्त हुए हैं, जो सम्पूर्ण कामनाओंको देनेवाले हैं। अतः ब्राह्मणो! अब आपलोग यहाँसे उठें और शीघ्र उन लोकोंमें पदार्पण करें || १३७-- १३९ || भीष्म उवाच ततो महर्षय: प्रीतास्तथेत्युक्त्वा पुरंदरम् सहैव त्रिदशेन्द्रेण सर्वे जग्मुस्त्रिविष्टपम्,भीष्मजी कहते हैं--युधिष्ठिर! इन्द्रकी बात सुनकर महर्षियोंको बड़ी प्रसन्नता हुई। उन्होंने देवराजसे “तथास्तु”/ कहकर उनकी आज्ञा स्वीकार कर ली। फिर वे सब-के-सब देवेन्द्रके साथ ही स्वर्गलोक चले गये

భీష్ముడు అన్నాడు—యుధిష్ఠిరా! ఇంద్రుని మాటలు విని మహర్షులు ఎంతో ఆనందించారు. వారు పురందరునికి “తథాస్తు” అని చెప్పి ఆజ్ఞను స్వీకరించారు; ఆపై త్రిదశాధిపతి దేవేంద్రునితో కలిసి అందరూ త్రివిష్టపం—స్వర్గలోకానికి—వెళ్లారు.
