Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
ब्रह्मा पितामह: पूर्व देवताभि: प्रसादित: । इमे नः संतरिष्यन्ति प्रजाभिर्जगती श्वरा:
brahmā pitāmahaḥ pūrvaṁ devatābhiḥ prasāditaḥ | ime naḥ santariṣyanti prajābhir jagatīśvarāḥ ||
వసిష్ఠుడు పలికెను—పూర్వకాలంలో దేవతలు పితామహుడు బ్రహ్మను ప్రసన్నపరచి ఇలా ప్రార్థించిరి—‘ప్రభో! దయచేసి భృగు మొదలైనవారి వంశజులు భూమిని పరిరక్షించుచూ తమ సంతానముచేత మమ్మల్ని సంకటమునుండి దాటించునట్లు అనుగ్రహించుము. వారు అందరూ ప్రజాపతులగుదురు, మహాతపస్వులగుదురు. నీ ప్రసాదముచేత ఈ సమయమున సమస్త లోకమును అపద నుండి రక్షించుదురు.’
