Merit and Destinations from the Gift of Cows

स्वधीतस्यापि च फल दृश्यतेअमुत्र चेह च । इहलोके<थवा नित्यं ब्रह्मलोके च मोदते,वेदोंके स्वाध्यायका फल भी इहलोक और परलोकमें भी देखा जाता है। स्वाध्यायशील द्विज इहलोक और ब्रह्मलोकमें भी सदा आनन्द भोगता है

svadhītasyāpi ca phalaṃ dṛśyate ’mutra ceha ca | ihaloke ’thavā nityaṃ brahmaloke ca modate ||

భీష్ముడు అన్నాడు—వేద స్వాధ్యాయ ఫలం ఈ లోకంలోనూ, పరలోకంలోనూ రెండింటిలోనూ కనిపిస్తుంది. స్వాధ్యాయనిష్ఠుడైన ద్విజుడు ఈ భూలోకంలోనూ, బ్రహ్మలోకంలోనూ నిత్యం ఆనందిస్తాడు.
