प्रीतो5स्मि तव राजेन्द्र वरश्न प्रतिगृह्मताम्‌ । “राजन! अब मुझे विदा दो। मैं जैसे आया था, वैसे ही लौट जाऊँगा। राजेन्द्र! मैं तुमपर बहुत प्रसन्न हूँ; अतः तुम कोई वर माँगो”

bhīṣma uvāca | prīto ’smi tava rājendra varaś ca pratigṛhyatām |

భీష్ముడు పలికెను—ఓ రాజేంద్రా, నేను నీపై ప్రసన్నుడను; కావున ఒక వరము స్వీకరించు. ఇక నన్ను వీడుము; నేను ఎలా వచ్చితినో అలా తిరిగి పోవుదును।
