Cyavana–Kuśika Dialogue on Lineage, Conflict, and Transmission

atha tau bhagavān prāha prahṛṣṭaś cyavanas tadā | na vṛthā vyādahṭaṃ pūrvaṃ yanmayā tad bhaviṣyati |

Educational Q&A

A truthful declaration made with dharmic intent—especially by a spiritually accomplished person—is not empty speech; it carries moral and spiritual efficacy and is expected to be fulfilled.

Cyavana, pleased, reassures the others that his earlier statement or promise will not prove futile; he affirms that what he said will certainly happen.
