आत्मानमाख्याति हि कर्मभिर्नर: सुशीलचारित्रकुलै: शुभाशुभै: । प्रणष्टमप्याशु कुलं तथा नर: पुन: प्रकाशं कुरुते स्वकर्मत:
ātmānam ākhyāti hi karmabhir naraḥ suśīlacāritrakulaiḥ śubhāśubhaiḥ | praṇaṣṭam apy āśu kulaṃ tathā naraḥ punaḥ prakāśaṃ kurute svakarmataḥ ||
మనిషి తన శుభాశుభ కర్మలతో, శీలంతో, ఆచరణతో, కులపరంపరతోనే నిజంగా తెలిసిపోతాడు. అతని వంశం నశించి మరుగున పడినప్పటికీ, తన స్వకర్మబలంతో దానిని త్వరలోనే మళ్లీ కీర్తి-ప్రతిష్ఠలలో నిలబెట్టగలడు.
