विश्वामित्रस्थ वै जन्म सोमसूर्याग्नितेजस: । भरतश्रेष्ठ! इस प्रकार मैंने तुम्हें सोम, सूर्य और अग्निके समान तेजस्वी विश्वामित्रके जन्मका सारा वृत्तान्त यथार्थरूपसे बताया है
Viśvāmitrasya vai janma somasūryāgnitejasaḥ | Bharataśreṣṭha! iti prakāreṇa mayā tubhyaṃ soma-sūrya-agnisama-tejasvinaḥ Viśvāmitrasya janmanaḥ sarvo vṛttāntaḥ yathārtharūpeṇa kathitaḥ |
భీష్ముడు పలికెను—ఓ భరతశ్రేష్ఠా! సోమ, సూర్య, అగ్ని సమాన తేజస్సుగల విశ్వామిత్రుని జన్మవృత్తాంతమంతటిని నేను ఈ విధంగా నీకు యథార్థంగా వివరించితిని।
