युधिछिर उवाच पित्र्यं वाप्यथवा दैवं दीयते यत्‌ पितामह । एतदिच्छाम्यहं ज्ञातुं दत्त केषु महाफलम्‌

Transliteration

yudhiṣṭhira uvāca |

pitryaṃ vāpy athavā daivaṃ dīyate yat pitāmaha |

etad icchāmy ahaṃ jñātuṃ datta keṣu mahāphalam ||

Translation

యుధిష్ఠిరుడు అన్నాడు—పితామహా! పితృకర్మలలో (శ్రాద్ధంలో) గానీ దేవయజ్ఞంలో గానీ ఇచ్చే దానం, ఎలాంటి పాత్రులకు ఇచ్చినప్పుడు మహాఫలాన్ని ఇస్తుంది? ఇది నేను తెలుసుకోవాలనుకుంటున్నాను।
