Tīrtha-vaṃśa Upadeśa: Instruction on the Fruits of Sacred Waters
नान्यत्र ब्राह्मणोश्रीयात् पूर्व विप्रेण केतित: । यवीयान् पशुहिंसायां तुल्यधर्मो भवेत् स हि
nānyatra brāhmaṇośrīyāt pūrvaṁ vipreṇa ketitaḥ | yavīyān paśuhiṁsāyāṁ tulyadharmo bhavet sa hi ||
భీష్ముడు పలికెను—ఒక బ్రాహ్మణుని ముందుగానే మరొక బ్రాహ్మణుడు శ్రాద్ధానికి ఆహ్వానించి ఉంటే, ఆ ఆహ్వానిత బ్రాహ్మణుడు మరెక్కడికైనా వెళ్లి భోజనం చేయరాదు. అతడు అలా చేస్తే, అతడు హీనుడిగా భావింపబడతాడు; అతనికి పశుహింసతో సమానమైన దోషం (పాపం) కలుగుతుంది.
