पृथक् चैव तथा सुप्तौ सा स्त्री स च मुनिस्तदा । तथार्धात्रे सा स्त्री तु शयनं तदुपागमत्,उस समय वह स्त्री और मुनि दोनों अलग-अलग सो गये। जब आधी रात हुई तब वह स्त्री उठकर मुनिकी शय्यापर आ बैठी
pṛthak caiva tathā suptau sā strī sa ca munis tadā | tathārdharātre sā strī tu śayanaṃ tad upāgamat ||
భీష్ముడు పలికెను—అప్పుడు ఆ స్త్రీయు, మునియు వేర్వేరు శయ్యలపై నిద్రించిరి. అర్ధరాత్రి సమయం వచ్చినప్పుడు ఆ స్త్రీ లేచి ముని శయ్య వద్దకు వచ్చి, ఆయన శయ్యపై కూర్చుండెను.
